New York is great, but....

So I recently went to New York for the 1st time since i was like 8yrs old. I went to see one of my closest friends. I've known him since middle school. Any who, the trip started off strange. When i got to the airport, the International Airport in Atlanta, I was "randomly" targeted by TSA for a more thorough screening process. So this white woman tells me to stand behind the screen so she could search my pants, which i could understand because i was wearing baggy pants. It wasn't the fact that she searched me it was how she searched me that i found odd. She slide her hand in my pants and she grazed the beginning of my "hoohoo." She didn't even say sorry, so i jokingly said "I knew I was gonna get molested by TSA." To which she responded "Believe me, you would know if i were molesting you." Then she winked at me. It was so weird I didn't even respond. I just got my shit and headed to my gate.
Then i get on the plane and this old man falls asleep next to me and snored the whole way to NY. I get off the plane and my friend Jay meets me there...an hour late. It was fucking cold as hell. We get on the train to head to Brooklyn and this bum pulls out his dick and starts peeing in a big gulp drinking cup. And right across from him, was another bum, who was masturbating. Mind you this was the 1st couple of hours I'm in New York. lol. The whole trip had strange occurrences like that. But all in all i had a great time. I got to see and experience a lot. I love NY but i could never live there. Subways smell like piss, u have to walk everywhere, there is traffic up the ass, and taxis are fuck expensive. I can't wait to go back lol. I cant wait to take another huge bite out of the Big Apple!!!

Ignorance "For Colored Girls"

I recently went to go see Tyler Perry's "For Colored Girls," which was a choreopoem written by Ntozake Shange. The original title of the choreopoem was "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enough." It was so marvellously written. It was about the trails and tribulations that colored women went through "back in the day," but these issues still exist. But colored, doesn't mean just black women. She meant, Black women, Asian women, Hispanic women, etc. Any women of color. This play was published in the 70s, a time where women were still seen as second rate, especially colored women.
I chose the title of this blog because when i saw this movie people were laughing at things that just weren't funny. This movie was about the hardships of womanhood, women being raped, abused, used, mistreated and women who lost their children. What in the hell is so humorous about that? I have read the book "For Colored Girls..." before. Although the stories are written in poem form, it was very easy to dissect their true meaning. Maybe the issue isn't ignorance, maybe the issue is stupidity. Who knows?
It just bothered me and ruined my chance to reflect on the realness of the issues women still deal with today. You know America, sometimes picking up a book every now and then, is a good thing!
I wish ignorance wasn't bliss. I wish ignorance was painful.

Do Toys Make Children Fat?

  Toys make children fat! At least that is what the state of California thinks. They believe that having toys with the kids meals will aid in their unhealthy eating habits. So, the state of California has taken it upon themselves to try and ban toys being sold along with fast food kid's meals. ARE YOU EFFIN SERIOUS?
  Across the nation, many school boards and states have been fighting against salt, excessive sugar, and certain types of fat. OK, I can understand wanting our children to be healthy, but a ban on toys doesn't make sense to me. Supposedly, this proposal to ban toys with fast food kids meals, is the first proposal of its kind in the nation. It would forbid the inclusion of a toy in any restaurant meal that has more than 485 calories, more than 600 mg of salt or high amounts of sugar or fat. This includes fast food joints, that have taken initiative to add fruit  and milk to their menu, IE. McDonald's or Wendy's.
  Some say "This is another example of the Nanny State going wild!" Couldn't agree more! The only thing the government has awesomely  changed is you walk around with weed in your pocket if ya have a card saying its okay. Ahhhh "The Golden State" hit the nose on that one! :)
  A blogger, Patrick, from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, had this to say: "Its not the toys keeping children coming back, its the food! Without the toy, children wouldn't at all want foods rich in fat and salt, such as ice cream, cookies and hot dogs. We all now that in their natural state, children clamor for celery sticks. Back before the Happy Meal, in the healthy 1960s, most children being taken to McDonald's ordered the lentil soup."
  I mean lets get serious! The real problem are the parents, I'm sorry. But it is what it is. I wonder who is taking these kids to the fast food chains...hmmmmm...could it be, I don't know, THE PARENTS! Who pays for the meals? THE PARENTS! We as adults have to take responsibility for our lazy actions. If ya don't feel like cooking, fast food, is usually the easiest option, but at what cost? Karen Well, McDonald's USA VP of Nutrition, agrees. "We advertise our white meat nuggets, our apple dippers, and our low fat white milk. I'm a parent. I have two small children and I decide what my children will eat, what toy and what environment will be. Banning or putting a legislation that undermines what parents choices are, we believe is wrong."

  You want your kids to eat and be healthy? THEN SHUT UP AND STEP UP! You are the parent, you make the decisions! I think the government has made more than enough decisions for us! Can't we leave something as simple eating to us? Don't be lazy America!  I leave you with my final thought...Toys don't make children fat, food does! DUH!

Beloved Pet/Bestfriend

So it has been about 8 months since my dog, Cotton, died. I miss him so much! He was an American Eskimo Miniature. He was all white, with a curly fluffy tail. He had beautiful brown eyes and the biggest heart a 20 lb animal can have.

He was the 1st dog I'd ever had. i got him when i was in 6th grade and lost him a couple of months before i turned 24. Some people have no idea how close you can get to a animal. He wasn't just a pet to us, he was family. He died of stomach cancer. I feel like it was my fault. He had been sick for awhile and i didn't pick up on it soon enough. He was sluggish, tired, and not eating much! I thought it was because he ate something he shouldn't have, like something out the trash. My ignorance probably killed him!

I have been having these dreams about him lately and i have no idea why. I'm not really sure dreams mean anything! I couldn't stop thinking about him so i decided to write a blog about him. I miss him so much.

I also have another dog, Max. He's a Golden Lab. He is so sweet! He took Cotton's death harder than everyone. He's still grieving. He has replaced Cotton with me. He follows me everywhere i go, hates to be in a room alone! If I'm not home he sits in front of my bedroom door until i return. Cotton's death bought us closer together. Max is old as well. He's about 95 lbs and he'll be 10 this year. He's my big man and I'm so glad I have him here when i need a companion.

Free Speech Vs. Military Funeral Privacy

So it came to my attention that a man, Matthew Snyder, 20, that died fighting for our country unfortunately lost his life overseas. His family was having a memorial service to honor and say goodbye to their child. There were protesters at the funeral holding up signs that said "Thank God For Dead Soldiers." Can you fucking believe that? These protesters were from Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas. They are apart of an anti-gay demonstration and have targeted the military funerals of troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are saying and i quote, "The deaths are God's revenge for the country's tolerance of homosexuality." The father of Matthew Snyder as well as others have sued this church. And i back them entirely!
The issue is, can these IDIOTS use the first amendment to ruin the funerals of these dead soldiers. Its up to the justices to decide whats going to happen! Sean E. Summer, who represents Snyder said "We're talking about a funeral! If context is ever going to matter, it has to matter in the context of a funeral. Mr. Snyder simply wanted to bury his son in a private, dignified manner."
I completely agree with  the Snyder Family. Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas is not a church, they are a CULT! They preach "GOD HATES FAGS"
First off let me say "GOD HATES NO ONE" I'm not a preacher or even religious, but i know that God loves all his children!
So, Westboro Baptist Church, guess you'll have the front seat to hell with the rest of the so called "fags".
Let me end by saying i am FOR GAY MARRIAGE and GAY RIGHTS!

WTF Bishop Long

Did the Bishop do it? Who knows!?! The only people who really know what happened are him and those men accusing him. Oh and of course the big guy upstairs! The question shouldn't only be. "Did he do it?" There are many questions I have on this subject! One of the questions should be, "Where the hell were the parents?" I'm just sayin! I think I would notice if my child came home with a fuckin car! Supposedly Bishop Long bought cars, furnished their homes, paid for their school and other things. If these allegations are true, these "Grown Men" were riding the gravy train along with Long.
Another thing, why in the hell did these boys/men have pictures of a grown man in his muscle shirts? I think that's a bit strange, if i do say so myself. And i do say!
Gary_G_1972 had this to say, " Eddie Long is clearly a pervert and a hypocrite. His flock of sheeple that cheer him on like a rock star are part of the problem. I would never give money to hucksters like Eddie Long, Creflo Dollar, Osteen, Rick Warren or any other money worshipper."
I'm not sure if i agree with Gary or not. But what I am sure of, is the fact that Bishop Long was able to be put in this position in the first place. And the fact there is so much evidence is creepy. Bishop Eddie Long needs to wear his WWJD bracelet! I'm just sayin...

Ahhhh Love, I remember it well

Love is a feeling we all want to experience. That feeling that makes you feel invincible. It tends to get you high. Makes you feel strong. But there's a flip side to the amazing feeling. Love can destroy you. It weakens your senses. It blinds you from the truth. It washes over you like a tidal wave and drowns you in it. It's a drug that's easy to overdose on. And when you don't have it, you feel like you can't breathe. You feel like the world has ended and you miss it. You crave it like food, like sleep, like water. You crave the essence of expression to over flow your entire body. Makes you feel alive and kills you at the same time. When everyone else has it, you don't.  All you can ask is, "When is it my turn?" You're next in line! Just get out your card and swipe. You don't even have to sign for it. It's already paid for with your blood, your sweat, your tears, your pain, your angst, your heart, your mind, your soul, among other things. Love is the essence of being, the thought that scares us all but yet completes us. Don't fall in love with love. Just fall in love.

Love...not sure i miss it! Maybe its because i shared the feeling with the wrong person. Maybe next time I'll get it right!

Homosexual Suicides

I have been following the news and learning that there are many homosexual people that feel their life isn't worth living because of hateful comments toward their orientation or even hateful people outing them when they are not ready for the world to know! For instance, Tyler Clementi ended his life all because of two ignorant students, Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei. They decided to secretly record Tyler being intimate with another man and decided to post it online for the world to see. Tyler could not bear to put up with the judgments of the world. He left a status on his Face Book page, dated Sept. 22 at 8:42 p.m. read, "Jumping off the gw bridge sorry." Later on the George Washington bridge his car, wallet and cell phone were found on the ledge.
These two students never once thought "What is Tyler going through? How would this effect his life?" They knew what they did was wrong. They may have not known he would end his life but they were well aware of the negative intent they had.
Tyler is not the only one to end their life because of malice. Seth Walsh, 13, Asher Brown, 13, and Billy Lucas, 15, also took their lives recently because of others bullying them. We have got to do something about this.
I understand that many people do not agree with the homosexual way of life. But tell me "How does someone else's orientation effect you directly?" Calling someone a "faggot", "dyke" or any other callous names is JUST WRONG!
The next time you open your mouth to call someone a demeaning name, think about Tyler, think about Billy, Asher, and Seth. Your vile words could destroy someones spirit and end their life!!!
